What happens during a consultation?
This is one of the most commonly asked questions, and we are here to assure you that your first visit with us will be fun and exciting! During your consultation, we would like to take a series of pictures and x-rays, which will assist us in the diagnostic process and allow us to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan just for you.
Photographs
These photographs serve many different purposes. The facial pictures are taken so that Dr. Gardner may study your frontal and profile structures. The intraoral pictures (in the mouth) let Dr. Gardner study your teeth up close, even when you are not in the office!
Panorex
This x-ray plays a key factor in your diagnosis. It shows Dr. Gardner the general position of your teeth and roots. It also provides him with bone levels and overall oral health, which enables him to safely use orthodontic appliances for movement.
Cephalometric
This x-ray provides Dr. Gardner with a view of your skeletal profile. He is able to see your “true-bite” and other skeletal positions and how they relate to your facial balance.
